DESCRIPTION:Regional symposium on 28 and 29 November 2024 in Rabat\, Morocco\nOpen Science\, Democratising science\nAn initiative of the World Federation of Scientific Workers (WFSW) in partnership with UNESCO \nThe World Federation of Scientific Workers (WFSW) and the UNESCO are co-organising with the Mohammed V University in Rabat\, and a number of decision-makers and stakeholders in science  research and development\, a regional symposium\, ‘Democratising Science’\, dedicated to  discussing the ‘Implementation of the UNESCO Recommendation in the Arab Region’. \nAware of the importance of the UNESCO Recommendation on Open Science as a tool to support the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)\, to strengthen Science\, Technology and Innovation\, and to address the shortcomings of the tools and processes dedicated to scientific research and the circulation and use of its results in the Arab Region\, the WFSW invites stakeholders to a dedicated Regional Symposium. \nIt will discuss the pathways of Open Science and the appropriate measures to benefit from scientific advances in order to bridge the digital and technological divides between Arab countries and other countries around the world. \nThe symposium will also present the tools and processes devoted to research\, scientific publishing\, and the circulation and use of its results in the Arab region.
