International Statement of Solidarity
In Defence of the Sovereignty of Venezuela and the Peoples of Latin America and the Caribbean

In the face of the renewed escalation of domination, interference and the use of force that threaten international peace, the undersigned trade union and ed ucational organisations raise their voices in defence of the peoples’ right to self determination and to denounce all attacks on national sovereignty.
The American Federation of Teachers, the Federation of South American Teachers’ Unions (FESIDUAS), and the Forum for Education in Ibero America express their strongest and unequivocal condemnation of the attack and aggressive policies carried out by the United States against the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela.
These acts constitute a grave and manifest violation of international law, as enshrined in the Charter of the United Nations. They represent a direct assault on the popular sovereignty of the Venezuelan people,who hold an inalienable, imprescriptible, and non negotiable right to freely determine their future, without pressure, threats, or external interference.
We forcefully reaffirm our unwavering commitment to Latin America and the Caribbean as a permanent zone of PEACE, in accordance with the collective will of the States and peoples of the region. Such peace cannot coexist with blockades, sanctions, economic strangulation, or imperialist interventions, regardless of the form they take or the justifications advanced.
Our full and unconditional solidarity goes to the Venezuelan people, as well as to a ll the peoples of Latin America and the Caribbean, who are engaged in a historic struggle for self determination, social justice, genuine democracy, dignity, and regional integration based on cooperation and sovereignty.
Education, democracy, and sovereignty cannot flourish under permanent threat, economic coercion, or imperialist violence. They require peace, respect for international law, and the full recognition of the will of peoples.

Déclaration de solidarité internationale
Pour la défense de la souveraineté du Venezuela et des peuples d’Amérique latine et des Caraïbes

Face à la recrudescence des politiques de domination, d’ingérence manifeste et de recours brutal à la force qui menacent la paix internationale, les organisations syndicales et éducatives signataires élèvent leurs voix pour défendre le droit des peuples à disposer d’eux-mêmes et pour dénoncer toute atteinte à la souveraineté des nations.
La Fédération américaine des enseignants, la Fédération des syndicats d’enseignants d’Amérique du Sud (FESIDUAS) et le Forum pour l’éducation en Ibero-Amérique expriment leur plus ferme et catégorique condamnation de l’attaque et des politiques agressives menées par les États Unis d’Amérique contre la République bolivarienne du Venezuela.
Cet acte et ces politiques constituent une violation grave et manifeste du droit international, tel que consacré par la Charte des Nations unies. Ils représentent une agression directe contre la souveraineté populaire du peuple vénézuélien, lequel détient un droit inaliénable, imprescriptible et non négociable à décider librement de son avenir, sans pressions, menaces ni ingérences extérieures.
Nous réaffirmons avec force notre engagement indéfectible en faveur de l’Amérique latine et des Caraïbes comme zone permanente de PAIX, conformément à la volonté collective des États et des peuples de la région. Cette paix ne saurait être compatible avec les blocus, les sanctions, l’asphyxie économique ou les interventions impérialistes, quelles qu’en soient les formes ou les justifications avancées.
Notre solidarité va pleinement et sans réserve au peuple vénézuélien ainsi qu’à l’ensemble des peuples d’Amérique latine et des Caraïbes, qui sont engagés dans une lutte historique pour l’autodétermination, la justice sociale, la démocratie réelle, la dignité et l’intégration régionale fondée sur la coopération et la souveraineté.
L’éducation, la démocratie et la souveraineté ne peuvent s’épanouir sous la menace permanente, la coercition économique ou la violence impérialiste. Elles exigent la paix, le respect du droit international et la reconnaissance pleine et entière de la volonté des peuples.

VIVE L’UNITÉ DE L’AMÉRIQUE LATINE ET DES CARAÏBES.
VIVE LA SOUVERAINETÉ ET L’AUTODÉTERMINATION DE NOS PEUPLES ET DE NOS NATIONS.
